The most famous among the islands, Isola Bella hosts the charming Palazzo Borromeo with its Italian terraced gardens. A baroque palace, inside Palazzo Borromeo there's a museum in which you can find period furniture, flamish tapestry, weapons, sculpures, paintings and frescos dated between XVI and XIX centuries.
Isola dei Pescatori is beloved by artists and poets like Alessandro Manzoni, Hemingway and Toscanini, to name just a few. Isola dei Pescatori is also known for the ancient trade of fishing, the work of the inhabitants who still live there today.
Mount Mottarone, located between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta, has been called one of the most beautiful natural balconies in Piedmont and offers a view that range from the plains to the Alps: from Monte Rosa to the Po Valley, where you can see up to seven lakes
